El
año pasado estuve suscrita por dos meses a ipsy,
uno de los más populares servicios de suscripción en la actualidad. Consiste en
pagar $10.00 mensuales (con opción de cancelar en cualquier momento, pero para más detalles visita a ipsy.com) a cambio de cuatro a cinco productos de
belleza (ya sea en tamaño de muestra o en tamaño regular) junto a una carterita
para cosméticos llamada glam bag. Decidí
unirme a la fiebre para probar. La idea es chévere porque tiene este aire de
misterio al despertar la curiosidad de adivinar qué te enviarán. Aunque hubo
par de productos que me gustaron y las carteritas eran super cute, cancelé mi suscripción al no estar
100% satisfecha y para economizar dinero. Sin embargo, este mes decidí volver
para ver qué tal está ipsy en la actualidad, porque me enamoré del blush de Hikari que incluyeron en el glam bag de abril y para documentar mi experiencia para el blog.
Last
year, I was subscribed for two months to ipsy,
one of the most popular subscription services right now. It consists
of paying $10.00 each month (with the option of cancelling at any moment, but
for further details visit ipsy.com for a makeup bag with four or five beauty products (either
in sample size or full size), all of this under the name of “glam bag”. I
decided to join to see what it was all about. The idea itself is fun because of
its air of mystery, since it awakens your curiosity when trying to guess what
will they send you. Even though there were a few products that I liked and the
makeup bags were super cute, I cancelled my subscription because I wasn’t 100%
satisfied and I wanted to save some money. However, I decided to reactivate my
subscription for this month to see how things were nowadays, because I fell in love with
the Hikari blush they included in the April Glam Bag, and to chronicle my
experience for the blog.

de continuar, tengan en cuenta que esto es una mini-reseña. Como el glam
bag es algo mensual, de carácter inmediato y que llega después de mediados
de mes (al momento de escribir esto, han pasado dos días de haberla recibido),
no es posible estar varios días probando los productos. Por lo tanto, aquí
dejaré mis primeras impresiones de los productos hasta el momento.

carrying on, keep in mind that this is a mini-review.
Because the glam bag is something that comes by mid-month, it has a strong
sense of immediacy (at the moment of writing this, it has been two days
after receiving the glam bag) and it’s not possible to test all the products for
many days. Therefore, I’ll leave here my first impressions of the products so
far.
Nunca he usado cremas BB ni CC, pero me apliqué el IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better® CC+® Cream with SPF 50+ en una área de mi rostro que tiene un poco de enrojecimiento y algunas imperfecciones. Nunca he usado cremas BB ni CC, pero me apliqué el IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better® CC+® Cream with SPF 50+ en una área de mi rostro que tiene un poco de enrojecimiento y algunas imperfecciones. Este producto promete “cobertura completa”, pero en realidad resultó ser lo contrario al no cubrir por completo mis imperfecciones.
I’ve
never used BB or CC creams, but I applied the IT Cosmetics Your Skin
But Better® CC+® Cream with SPF 50+ on an area of my face that has a bit of redness and some imperfections.
This product promises “full coverage”, but it really was the opposite by not
covering my imperfections completely.

El CAILYN Cosmetics Pure Lust Extreme
Matte Tint en Narcissist fue una gran decepción para mí. Me gustó mucho el
color peach rosado y el olor a vainilla, pero la fórmula es
extremadamente seca. Tanto, que resecó más todavía mis labios, los cuales ya
estaban algo resecos (todavía siento los efectos). En menos de una hora de
habérmelo aplicado, tuve que quitármelo. Incluso, había planeado tomar una foto
de mis labios con el producto en horas del día (la única vez que lo usé fue de
noche) para el blog, pero cancelé la idea por el bienestar de mis labios.
Quizás una opción para yo usarlo sería aplicarme lip balm primero y
luego el color, pero esperaré unos días más para intentarlo.

The
CAILYN Cosmetics Pure Lust Extreme Matte Tint in Narcissist was a huge
disappointment. I really liked the peach rose shade and the vanilla fragrance, but
the formula is extremely dry. In fact, it made my lips even drier than they
already were (I’m still feeling the effects). In less than an hour of applying
it, I had to take it off. I had even planned taking a photo of my lips while
wearing the product during daylight (the only time I wore it was during the
night) for the blog, but I cancelled it for the well being of my lips. Maybe an option for me would to first apply some lip balm and then the color, but
I’ll wait a couple of days before trying it.

no he usado el Jesse's Girl Pure Pigment Eye Dust en Brown Sugar, pero,
como ya vieron, hice un swatch. La
tonalidad es marrón tostado claro, es matte, se ve bien y tiene buena
pigmentación. Este tipo de producto también es nuevo para mí, pues nunca he
usado sombras en polvo suelto. ¡Estoy loca por probarlo!

I
still haven’t used the Jesse's Girl Pure Pigment Eye
Dust in Brown Sugar, but like you’ve already seen, I did a swatch. The shade is toasted
light brown, matte, looks good, and has a nice pigmentation. This kind of product is also
new for me, since I’ve never used eye shadow in loose powder. Can’t wait to try
it!
El Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray tiene una fragancia placentera y limpia. Si
hubiera un jabón para bañarse con este mismo olor, lo compraría. Me lo puse en el
cabello luego de habérmelo lavado y lo dejé secar al natural. Mis puntas se
sienten más suaves y acondicionadas.
The
Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray has a pleasant and clean fragrance.
If there was a body wash with the same fragrance, I would buy it. I put it on my hair after washing
it and I let it to dry naturally. My hair ends feel softer and conditioned.
Confieso
que nunca he usado pestañas postizas, por lo que el Eylure Naturals No. 020 Strip Lashes me tomó por sorpresa. Se ven muy naturales y
bonitas (al menos en el empaque). No me las he puesto todavía porque quisiera
probarlas con calma. Si llego a hacerlo, ¡definitivamente haré un post sobre esta nueva experiencia!

I
must confess that I’ve never used false eyelashes, which is why the Eylure Naturals No. 020 Strip Lashes took me by surprise. They look very natural and
beautiful (at least on the package). I haven’t worn them yet because I’d like
to take my time with them. If I get to do it, I’ll definitely write a post
about this new experience!
Lo más que me gusta de este glam
bag es la cartera para cosméticos diseñada por Breakups To Makeup. Tengo muchas carteras para cosméticos, ¡pero
me atrevo a decir que esta se ha convertido en mi favorita! El diseño gráfico,
la ilustración, la tipografía y el mensaje son perfectos. Mis respetos para
Angelique Vélez, la creadora de Breakups
to Makeup, por sus productos tan memorables. ¡Confieso que ya quiero tener
varios de sus otros productos!

What I like the most about this glam bag is the makeup clutch from Breakups to Makeup.
I have a lot of makeup bags, but I dare to say that this one is has become my
favorite! The graphic design, the illustration, the font, and the message are
perfect. Kudos and respect to Angelique Vélez, the creator of Breakups to Makeup, for her very
memorable products. I must say that I already want many of her other products!

A
pesar de las decepciones que tuve con par de productos, pienso darle otra
oportunidad a ipsy el mes que viene.
No me arrepiento haber regresado, pues la carterita para cosméticos me tiene
enamorada. Creo que parte del problema con estos servicios de subscripción es la expectativa
que la persona genera sobre lo que quisiera recibir. Claro está, lo que recibe
cada persona está basado en un quiz
con sus contestaciones, pero pienso que este sistema puede mejorarse. Por
ahora, ya veremos qué nos depara el mes de junio.
Despite
the disappointments I had with a couple of products, I will give ipsy another chance next month. I don’t
regret reactivating my subscription, because I’m in love with the makeup
clutch. I think part of the problem with these subscription services is the expectation that one
generates about what one would like to receive. Then again, the products that a
person receives are based on a quiz with the person’s answers, but I think this
system can be improved. In the meantime, we’ll see what June brings along.
