Mini reseña/mini review: ipsy June Glam Bag

Este mes continué suscrita a ipsy luego de haber regresado el mes pasado. Contrario a mi reseña de mayo, en donde di breves primeras impresiones de los productos que había usado hasta ese momento, este mes decidí hacer una especie de unboxing. O sea, describir los productos que me llegaron y dar una opinión de la variedad de los productos. Todos son en tamaño muestra.

This month I kept subscribed to ipsy after returning last month. Unlike my May review, in which I gave brief first impressions of the products I had used so far, this month I rather decided to do an unboxing. In other words, to describe the products I got and give an opinion regarding the product variety. All of them are sample size.

Seré brutalmente honesta: me decepcioné cuando me llegó el e-mail para avisarme lo que me iba a llegar. En los teasers de los productos que ipsy publicó en las redes sociales, habían varios labiales y tenía la esperanza de que me dieran uno. Encuentro dispar que me enviaran tres productos para la cara, pero que no me enviaran un producto para labios. Ni las respuestas del cuestionario que completé me ayudaron en esto. En fin, no hay un balance real entre los productos que envían.   

I’ll be brutally honest: I was disappointed when I received the e-mail notification of the products that I was going to receive. In the product teasers that ipsy published on social media, there were many lip products and I hoped that I would get one. I find a disparity in the fact that they sent me three skincare products, yet they couldn’t send one lip product. Not even my questionnaire answers helped me on this. There is no real balance between the products.
  

Ahora, no todo es trágico. Estoy entusiasmada con el Nuxe Gentle Exfoliating Gel porque es un scrub hecho con pétalos de rosa y yo vivo obsesionada con los productos hechos con rosas. También me entusiasma que sea para piel sensitiva, pues hace poco cambié de scrub precisamente por ese problema. Tiene una fragancia agradable y lo usaré esta semana en mi rutina de exfoliación.

Now, not everything is tragic. I’m excited about the Nuxe Gentle Exfoliating Gel because it’s a scrub made with rose petals and I live obsessed with rose products. I’m also excited about the fact that it’s made for sensitive skin, since I recently had to change the scrub I was using because of that problem. It has a nice fragrance and I will use it this week as part of my exfoliation routine.

También tengo curiosidad con el BeFine Cucumber Facial Mask porque nunca he usado una mascarilla de pepinillo. De igual manera, me intriga el esmalte de Formula X por su color coral rosado, que me parece apropiado para el verano (aunque yo uso los colores sin que me importe mucho la estación del año).

I’m also curious about the BeFine Cucumber Facial Mask because I’ve never used a cucumber mask. I’m intrigued by the Formula X nail polish as well because of its pink coral shade, which looks appropriate for the summer (although I wear colors without caring much about the seasons).

Lo menos que me entusiasma de este glam bag es el Trestique Mini Shadow Crayon, pues su color es un verde muy oscuro y profundo, y nunca uso esa tonalidad porque creo que no me favorece. Sí me pareció super cute la envoltura, pues la tapa es en forma de un lápiz, lo cual te hace pensar que el lápiz vino abierto (a mí me pasó al abrir el bolso y pensé que todo se había manchado). Me siento igual respecto al Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer porque no utilizo primers para el rostro. Siempre tengo la preocupación de tener breakouts al ponerme tantos productos a la vez en la cara. Es por eso que en el cuestionario marqué que no me interesa recibir primers para la cara.

What I’m least excited about in this glam bag is the Trestique Mini Shadow Crayon since the shade is a very dark and deep green, and I never use that kind of shade because I think it doesn’t look good on me. I did find that the packaging was very cute, since the cap resembles a pencil, which makes you think that the pencil’s cap fell off (it happened to me when I opened the bag and I thought everything else got ruined). I feel the same way regarding the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer because I don’t use facial primers. I’m always worried about having breakouts by putting on too much stuff on my face at the same time. That’s why I marked on the questionnaire that I didn’t want facial primers.

Me gustó el bolso para cosméticos de este mes, pues es más grande que los otros de ipsy que tengo y tiene más espacio para guardar más cosas. También me gusta el material del que está hecho. Sin embargo, estéticamente hablando, no es de los más bonitos, pero esto a la vez es práctico porque así no duele tanto que se manche con maquillaje, en especial si se trata de manchas oscuras.

I liked this month’s cosmetics bag because it’s bigger than the other ipsy bags that I have and it has more space for storage. I also like the material that it’s made from. However, aesthetically talking, it’s not one of the prettiest bags, but at the same time this is practical because then it won’t hurt so much if it gets stained with makeup, especially if they’re dark stains.

En conclusion... / In conclusion...

Como dije en la reseña del mes pasado, ipsy necesita mejorar la personalización de los glam bags y replantearse el cuestionario. El hecho de que esté entusiasmada con algunas de las muestras de este mes no cambia mi opinión en cuanto al balance de productos. Es ilógico enviar tres productos faciales y ninguno para los labios, y más cuando ofrecieron varios labiales. No estoy segura si regrese a ipsy, pero de hacerlo sería en septiembre o en octubre para ver si envían productos relacionados al otoño. Ojalá que de aquí a esa fecha haya mejorado el sistema de ellos, pero me temo que eso no sucederá en buen tiempo.

Like I said in last month’s review, ipsy needs to improve the customization of the glam bags and reassess the questionnaire. The fact that I’m excited with some of this month’s samples doesn’t change my opinion regarding the balance of products. It’s illogical to send three facial products and not even one lip product, and even more so when they offered a variety of lip products. I’m not sure if I’ll come back to ipsy, but if I do it’ll be on September or October to check if they send autumn related products. I hope the system has already improved when that date arrives, but I’m afraid that won’t happen for a while.
