Reseña/review: Studio 35 Beauty Mint Facial Masque

Hace poco tuve que reconsiderar parte de mi rutina de belleza, pues me di cuenta de que las mascarillas que estaba usando me causaban enrojecimiento en la piel. Por eso y otras razones, mi madre (quien era esteticista y dueña de un salón de belleza), me recomendó usar una mascarilla suave que relajara mi piel. Así fue que terminé en Walgreens, decidida a comprar la clásica Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque. Sin embargo, no estaba disponible, por lo que decidí probar la versión de Walgreens de tan famoso producto.

A little while ago, I had to reconsider part of my beauty routine, since I realized that the facial masks I was using were causing me redness. Because of that and other reasons, my mother (who was an aesthetician and once owned a beauty salon), recommended me to use a smooth facial mask to relax my skin. That’s how I ended up in Walgreens with the intention of buying the classic Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque. However, it wasn’t available, which is why I decided to try the Walgreens version of that famous product.

Studio 35 Beauty es una marca de Walgreens que cuenta con una variedad de productos de belleza. El hecho de que ya uso varios de sus productos (algodón, pads de algodón, removedor de esmalte, brochas) desde hace años y que mi experiencia ha sido positiva influyó en esta decisión de compra. Ya llevo un mes usando el Mint Facial Masque una vez a la semana como parte de mi rutina semanal nocturna de limpieza y exfoliación, la cual consiste en los siguientes pasos: limpieza de cara con un limpiador, exfoliación con un scrub que no sea muy fuerte, aplicación de mascarilla y aplicación de tónico facial.

Studio 35 Beauty is a Walgreens brand that offers a variety of beauty products. The fact that I’ve used many of their products (cotton, cotton pads, nail polish remover, makeup brushes) since many years ago and that my experience has been positive influenced my purchase decision. I’ve been using the Mint Facial Masque for a month on a weekly basis as part of my weekly nocturnal beauty routine of cleansing and exfoliation, which consists of the following steps: washing my face with a facial cleanser, exfoliating with a smooth scrub, putting on a facial mask, and applying a facial toner.

Luego de lavar mi cara, me puse la mascarilla y me la dejé puesta por diez minutos. Aunque las instrucciones en el envase no precisan la cantidad de tiempo, opté por diez minutos porque otras mascarillas que he usado así lo indican. La textura de la mascarilla es como una pasta color verde. Al tenerla puesta, sentí una leve y muy agradable sensación refrescante o tingling debido a la menta. Pasado el tiempo, me enjuagué la mascarilla con agua. Antes de aplicarme el tónico facial, observé y toqué mi piel por un rato. No hubo enrojecimiento alguno y mi piel se sentía más suave. También sentí una profunda limpieza. Mi piel se mantuvo de esa manera luego de aplicarme el tónico facial.

After washing my face, I applied the mask and I left it on for ten minutes. Although the instructions on the tube did not indicate to leave it on for a certain amount of time, I decided to use it for ten minutes based on the instructions of other masks that I’ve used. The mask’s texture is like a green paste. While having the mask on, I felt a light and very nice tingling sensation because of the mint. Once the time was up, I removed the mask by rinsing it with water. Before applying the facial toner, I observed and touched my face for a while. There was no redness at all and my skin felt smoother. I also felt like I had a profound cleanse. My skin kept that way after applying the facial toner.

¡El Studio 35 Beauty Mint Facial Masque se queda en mi vanity tray! En el mes que llevo usándolo no he experimentado enrojecimiento, alergia o alguna otra molestia. A la mañana siguiente de haberla usado, mi piel se ve igual de radiante como la noche anterior luego del tratamiento. No obstante, en un futuro compraré la versión original de Queen Helene, pues me gustaría comparar ambas mascarillas.   

The Studio 35 Beauty Mint Facial Masque stays on my vanity tray! On the month that I’ve been using it, I haven’t experienced any redness, allergic reactions, or any other discomfort. The morning after using it, my skin looked as radiant as the night before right after the treatment. Nonetheless, in the future I will buy the original version from Queen Helene because I’d like to compare both masks.
